Innovative Pyrolysis Project Utilizing Advanced Equipment Set for Fall 2024

In an exciting development for the pyrolysis industry, equipment for a new project aimed at converting biosolids into syngas and biochar is set to be delivered in fall 2024. This large-scale initiative, based in the USA, showcases state-of-the-art technology and equipment designed to enhance the efficiency and environmental impact of the pyrolysis process.

The project will employ cutting-edge equipment provided by Macrotek Inc., including an eductor, three spray towers, a fan, a chiller, pumps, heat exchangers, and comprehensive instrumentation. All equipment will be skid-mounted, excluding the vessels. This sophisticated setup is critical for the effective removal of particulate matter, ammonia (NH3), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), hydrogen fluoride (HF), and moisture from the syngas before it is directed to the thermal oxidizer.

What sets this project apart is its unique demonstration facility, designed to be mobile and relocated to various sites. This flexibility allows for the adaptation and demonstration of the technology in diverse environments, showcasing its versatility and potential for widespread application.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this innovative project,” said Chris Ristevski, Senior Process Engineer at Macrotek Inc.. “Our advanced equipment plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and sustainability of the pyrolysis process, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on the industry.”

This project marks a significant step forward in the pyrolysis of biosolids, promising to deliver cleaner and more efficient syngas production.
